1000-piece jigsaw puzzle from Pomegranate The Palace of the Dragon King
According to legend, the Dragon King once stole a sacred jewel that had been gifted to the head of the Fujiwara clan. A local *ama* (pearl diver), who was in love with the clan leader's son, decided to retrieve the jewel from the Dragon King's underwater palace. She lulled the king and his guards to sleep with music and fled with the jewel, but they quickly woke up and gave chase. Realizing she could not fight them all, the diver cut a hole in her chest and hid the pearl inside – thereby saving the jewel, but losing her life. The classic tale of Tamatori-hime (literally "the princess who retrieved the jewel") fascinated artists and inspired numerous plays and paintings. Utagawa Kuniyoshi alone created at least four different woodblock prints depicting the diver's daring heist.
