Sebastian Münster: Sea Monsters 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle from Pomegranate
1000 piece jigsaw puzzle from Pomegranate Sebastian Münster: Sea Monsters
Painted by Sebastian Münster
Sebastian Münster was one of the most famous cosmographers of the Renaissance. This whimsical map was published as part of his popular book Cosmographia (1544) — the earliest printed description of the world in German — and depicts the hypothetical sea monsters from “the northern lands,” i.e., Northern Europe. It looks like either pure fantasy or sheer madness! What do you think? It's certainly fun!
