About E. A. Séguy

E. A. Séguy (1877-1951) was a French designer, illustrator, and pioneering decorative artist, best known for his colorful Art Deco portfolios of insects, butterflies, flowers, and decorative patterns. While very little is known about his personal life, his work has had a lasting impact on graphic design, textiles, wallpaper, and interior decoration.

Using innovative pochoir techniques, where motifs were hand-stenciled, he created richly colored images renowned for their precision and elegance. His publications, among others Papillons, Insectes, and Floréal, united scientific observation with artistic imagination.

Today, Séguy's timeless designs are still sought after by collectors and continue to inspire artists, designers, and creatives worldwide.
